Glashütte Original is a German watch manufacturer whose origins date back to 1845. The company was founded by Ferdinand Adolph Lange and Gustav Bernhard Gutkaes in the small town of Glashütte, located near Dresden, which is renowned for its excellence in watchmaking. With the reunification of Germany in 1990, the watchmaking industry began to recover. VEB Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe was renamed Glashütter Uhrenbetrieb GmbH in 1994 before being privatized under the name Glashütte Original. Since then, the brand has positioned itself as a symbol of high-end German watchmaking, combining traditional techniques with relentless innovation.
